Class Lessons

This class have introduced me to many topics that I haven’t took notice before. I learned how to interact with groups and point out the different roles each member plays. In order to have a strong group each member has to play their roles in order to have a successful outcome. I learned about the many uses of language and how to engage with others to make a certain view or perspective stronger on your side. This helped me with my speeches and papers because it showed me what I was missing in some of my papers for my other class to make it stronger. I noticed there were many main ideas or points I could add to my paper and speeches to reach out to audiences in a stronger view. Furthermore I learned the different types of reasoning and evidence and how to utilize it to make the audience feel a certain way. Last I would like to talk about the different arguments people use and how people use it to express their point of view. Overall I learned a lot from this class, which I can use now for my future classes.

  1. I feel that we got the same things out of the class. I felt the same was as you described you did about the class. Being able to learn things, like how to develop an argument, analyze arguments and so on helped me as well in my other classes, and become a stronger writer. When i signed up for this class i was not aware that by taking it I was going to become a better writer and student in my other classes here at San Jose State. Working together in the groups also helped us learn how small group organization and communication work in real life.
